Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Description:

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will design, implement, and support advanced cyber defense solutions to protect enterprise infrastructure and critical systems. You will leverage Splunk SIEM to monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security threats while enhancing the organization's overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor security events, network activity, endpoint logs, and cloud environments for potential threats.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Splunk correlation searches, alerts, and dashboards.
• Investigate security incidents and coordinate response and remediation efforts.
• Perform threat hunting and identify indicators of compromise and malicious activity.
• Develop and enhance detection use cases, response playbooks, and security monitoring capabilities.
• Onboard and integrate new log sources into the Splunk SIEM platform.
• Ensure log normalization, integrity, and data quality across security systems.
• Support compliance initiatives, audits, and security reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams to improve defensive controls.
• Document incidents, findings, procedures, and operational security processes.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Strong experience with Splunk Enterprise Security, SIEM administration, and security monitoring.
• Expertise in threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, and forensic analysis.
• Proficiency in developing Splunk searches, correlation rules, dashboards, and alerts.
• Experience analyzing logs from network, endpoint, cloud, and security technologies.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, attack techniques, and MITRE ATT&CK methodologies.
• Experience integrating and managing security log sources within SIEM platforms.
• Knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, cloud security, and security operations practices.
• Experience supporting compliance, audit readiness, and security reporting activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
