Job Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client for a detail-oriented Remote Typist to join their growing administrative team. This is a great entry point into professional office work for someone who types quickly and accurately and enjoys turning handwritten notes, audio files, and rough drafts into polished, error-free documents.

Day to day, you will spend most of your time transcribing, formatting, and proofreading documents while working independently from home. The role suits someone self-motivated who can manage their own time, follow formatting guidelines closely, and stay focused on accuracy even when the workload is repetitive. No prior office experience is required, just strong typing skills and a reliable home setup.

Responsibilities

  • Type, format, and edit documents from handwritten notes, audio recordings, or rough drafts
  • Proofread completed documents for spelling, grammar, and formatting errors
  • Maintain accurate and organized digital files
  • Meet daily and weekly typing quotas and deadlines
  • Follow client style guides and formatting templates consistently
  • Convert scanned or PDF documents into editable text files
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding workload and turnaround times
  • Organize and label completed files for easy retrieval
  • Perform basic data entry tasks as needed
  • Flag unclear or incomplete source materials for clarification

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute with high accuracy
  • Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Google Docs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home workspace
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Prior transcription or data entry experience is a plus but not required

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401k retirement plan with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • 100 percent remote work from anywhere in the US
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • Home office equipment stipend
  • Opportunities for skill development and advancement
  • Employee assistance program
  • Paid training during onboarding
  • Casual, supportive team culture
